Turkey Bone Broth

Tracy from Bad to the Bone was kind enough to share her top tips for making the most delicious bone broth from your Thanksgiving Turkey carcass! We are going to give her method a go this year and hope you will too!

Turkey Bone Broth

Ingredients

  • Cooked turkey carcass
  • Filtered water
  • Himalayan rock salt
  • Black pepper
  • Your choice of herbs
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Any veggie scraps

Instructions

  • Put your cooked turkey carcass into a large soup pot and pour filtered water to cover the whole turkey.
  • Add Himalayan rock salt, black pepper, any herbs, celery, carrots, garlic, onions and/or any veggie scraps to pot.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer for anywhere between 4-48hours. (The longer the summer, the more flavor!)
  • Once done simmering, mash the bones and veggies into the broth. Pour the broth through a strainer.
  • Broth can be kept in the fridge for up to 7 days or 6 months frozen.
